Children and their families from across Canada are brought to the beautiful Virtue Studio Ranch where they are treated to live entertainment, special celebrity guests, movie stars, international stunt performers, and a barbeque lunch. Live stunt shows, animal acts, wrestling, rodeo and acrobatics continue to become one of the highlights of the year for many who've come to the ranch. But it's not all entertainment. Danny and his volunteers work closely with the children and their parents, teachers, therapists to engage and educate. It truly is hands-on learning and when combined with the interaction the children have with the horses and the staff, a day at the ranch is life-affirming.
It is the Virtue Foundation's goal to provide an experience that encompasses many aspects of a child's growth and maturity. We recognize that for many children it is not a level playing field and the ability to overcome these obstacles can be compromised by certain challenges. We want to make the game of life, even for one day, a bit fairer, a bit more rewarding and a whole lot more affirming. A Day at the Ranch showcases animals, trainers, tricks and stunts but it also a day where there is great interaction and every effort is made for the children, be they in wheelchairs or be they psychologically challenged, to succeed and receive affirmation on their own terms, for their own achievements.
Want to wrestle a bear? Want to take a 60 foot drop backwards off of a crane? Want to ride horses at full gallop? Well, we kind of like it if you take it a step at a time! Although we recommend that you let others show you first, there is no question that at the Ranch, we know how to share in the fun. Laughter is contagious around here, and the oohs and aahs are never-ending. Come on out and "Let's Ride".
The Virtue Ranch is for everyone but we take particular pride in being a welcoming, affirming and positive place for children and young adults who need that extra little bit of help, a hand up or simply an inclusive environment.
We welcome everyone but love it when the kids join us. The excitement, the laughter, the contagious joy is why we are here. Our magnificent animals, from horses to bears and tigers, are waiting as are our staff and volunteers, to create a day of fun where learning about movie making, animal training and stunt performances are followed up by a big, good old fashioned barbeque.
As a charity organization that aims to serve communities we live in, we welcome your support and sponsorship. The opportunities are endless. For example, you can sponsor a horse and we continue saddling it up for a kid with special needs. Or you can sponsor our up and coming event and we recognize you properly. We could use extra helping hands with many areas of our daily operation. Please contact us to inquire a volunteering opportunities.
A bag of horse feed, or nails and screws... we could make a good use out of them all. If you are in a fencing or roofing business, our ranch boundaries or barn roofs could always see improvements and mending too. These are just a few ideas of anything you could contribute to help us keep going. You can even sponsor a horse and we continue saddling it up for a kid with special needs. If you have any materials or supplies that you think we could use, please contact us and we will arrange scooping them up.
